A man steps in to say he and Diana need to talk. The rookie's thoughts fill in who he is: the owner of the club and Diana's husband, a man who, as the rookie sees it, owns her along with the club. Diana then sends the rookie upstairs to her office, where his punishment is waiting and celebrating is off the schedule. Winning, he points out, has just earned him a sentence.
Knees, uniforms and a shower she asks him into
Episode 2 puts the rookie face to face with Diana. She treats his independent streak as a point in his favor, then tells him to drop to his knees, which leaves him doubting that any of it is real.
The order leads to another sentence rather than a scene. While Diana showers and leaves for the party that celebrates the win, the rookie stays behind to wash the team's uniforms alone. He resolves to keep away and keep his eyes down, and busies himself with the gear.
Then Diana summons him and offers him a place in the shower with her. He spells out the stakes, her marriage to the owner among them, and calls himself a dead man. Even so, the free pair ends on his answer, a yes with ma'am attached, so the last word is not Coach after all.

The premise sells Diana as an ice-cold coach who pushes the rookie harder than anyone, and the free pair shows the frost thinning: strict in episode 1, she is inviting him into the shower by episode 2.
