Then he hears that the temp was hired this very morning, that she is 20 and that she is pretty, and he crosses the floor to welcome her himself. Harriet says she has admired him for years, rewrites that on the spot to admire the company, and he lets her know he preferred the first version. When the assistant reminds him of a meeting at nine, he tells her it can wait, and the episode ends on a dark joke about bodies in the building.
Hoodies, gossip and a closed cupboard door
Episode 2 runs about ninety seconds and is cut in half by a door. On the near side the assistant keeps muttering that nothing is going on: the cupboard visit is a formality, and the girl is only a temp. A scrap of corridor gossip that mentions someone called Vic sours her mood further.
Behind the door, the boss offers Harriet company freebies, a T-shirt and a hoodie of the kind given away at charity events and conferences, and says she can keep whichever she likes. He promises to keep his manners while she tries one on. She steps out wondering whether black would flatter her more than white, swears mid-sentence, and apologizes for the language because he is her boss and it is only day one. He says the look works, she asks which he means, the color or the swearing, and his answer is both, which earns him another word she has just apologized for.
A temp, a boss called sir and a PA nobody names
Harriet is the shy newcomer. Her surname, Seagrave, comes from the Candy.ai chat profile linked after episode 1, and it is also how many people search for the series. Nobody addresses the boss as anything but sir, and his assistant, blonde and jealous, never gets a clear name either; Vic exists only as a mention in the gossip. Slang such as bloody and bless her is what places the story in London.
The premise pits a boss whose interest in the temp arrives within days against an assistant ready to ruin it. In episode 2 her only weapon is denial. What the series promises is jealousy turning into action, and that lives in the paid episodes, which this guide does not describe.
