He tries to protect both the post and the relationship, and she tells him to look after the post and let her deal with the rest. He objects that she is family to his girlfriend and that this would be wrong, and she notes that he came in anyway.
Meanwhile the girlfriend sends Margot a teasing check on Jake, wondering if he is on his best behavior or already a favorite. The reply is that he is devoted to the task and nearly finished. A second message says the girlfriend is already at the club and wants him sent along quickly, so Margot passes it on and tells him to stop being a boyfriend for the next hour. His answer, calling her boss, closes the episode, and Margot also reminds him who got him the job.
